Let's talk about garden tables. They're not just somewhere to put your plate - they become the soul of your outdoor space. It's where you'll share meals with your family, laugh with friends on summer evenings, or just enjoy your morning coffee and enjoy the morning breeze.

Tables for all occasions

So what kind of table do you need? It really depends on your space and how you live.
Got a tiny balcony? A small bistro table might be all you need - just enough room for two people to enjoy a drink or a quick meal. These don't take up much space but make a big difference to how much you'll use your outdoor area.

If you've got a bit more room and like to eat outside regularly, a medium-sized table that seats 4-6 people makes sense. Wooden ones look great as they age, while rattan gives a more contemporary feel.

For those of you with bigger gardens who love hosting BBQs and garden parties, you'll want something that seats 8 or more. Just make sure it's made of something tough like solid wood or coated metal - it needs to handle the British weather!

Choice of materials

Speaking of weather - don't forget about the sun (yes, we do get some in the UK!). Tables with holes for parasols are worth considering, especially if your garden gets full sun.

Materials matter too. Wood looks lovely but needs a bit of TLC. Rattan is pretty easy to deal with and doesn't weigh much if you need to move it around. Metal is probably the lowest maintenance option.

Your garden table can actually become one of the most versatile things you own. I've used mine for everything from laptop work on nice days to repotting plants or even as a makeshift bar when friends come over.

Whatever you choose, it's worth finding something that really works for your space. After all, the right table might be the difference between an outdoor area that sits empty and one that becomes your favorite place to be.
